January 2010 SSRD Bout - Texas Dolls vs. Kung Pow Kitties

The Kung Pow Kitties faced off against the newly-formed Texas Dolls to a rough start. Queen Bitch, Captain of the Texas Dolls, started off the first quarter with a nine-point jam against Tricksy Carnival, who had a hard time getting help from her team to make it past Sally Nightmare and the other blockers. Queen Bitch and Rad Racer (a veteran skater participating in her last bout) scored the rest of the points in the first half for the Dolls.

The second quarter was punctuated by a fight that took place after Dick Tater fell on the track in front of Queen Bitch and caused her to fall. Queen Bitch rose up only to jump back on top of Tater for a good-natured tackle and tumble, before getting back up to resume the quarter.

Puddin’ Pops, skating for KPK, was able to score two points jamming against Queen, however these points were stripped by halftime when the Texas Dolls won both the first and second quarter penalty challenges – a full-contact jam between Sugar N Spikes and Texas SlamHer and a pillow fight between Tater and Queen.

The second half began with a jam between Rad and Puddin’, and each was able to score points for her team. Jane Doe (Captain of KPK) and Tricksy (KPK jammer) quickly racked up another five points each, and KPK held the Dolls back with good defense throughout the third quarter. Third quarter excitement included Tricksy passing the jammer panties to Dick Tater, the pivot. Unfortunately, there were only 30 seconds on the clock and Tater was unable to take advantage of the pass. In the third quarter penalty challenge, leg wrestling, Bumper ThumpHer pinned Queen Bitch, and the Dolls lost a point.

The last quarter was good for the Kitties. While Rad scored ten points for the Dolls in one jam, The Kitties’ Puddin’ and Dick Tater scored ten more points – five each in two separate jams. Sally scored a major penalty with her famous Flying Beaver move against Dick Tater. Mini-Me and Heathen HookHer got into a fight, and the fans loved it. Bond Fury tagged out on the penalty challenge to Sally Nightmare, who won the big ball joust against KPK’s Good Ass Gold. Since the penalty challenge was a tag-out, no points were lost.

The final score was Texas Dolls 42 to the Kung Pow Kitties’ 20.
